"once bitten, twice shy."

one of my malay teachers in primary school once said to me: "all humans are stupid. they've no use at all. they only shit, waste the world's resources and sleep. all of us are stupid. you and i. we're all stupid."

of course she said it in malay.
she was one of the senior teachers.
and at that point of time, i really didn't understand what she meant. i was only in primary two and she had included these few sentences at the start of her long and dreadful lecture one morning. i still don't know if she said it because she was extremely infuriated by us or if she wanted to knock some sense into our young dumb heads.


one thing's for sure.
i disagreed with her statement.
note that i used past tense.



i think i finally understood what my teacher meant.
and i finally do agree with her statement.
i've been very emotional lately.
this is the result of learning about the conflicts, disagreements and violence of the world.


lack of communication. lack of understanding. lack of socialising. i guess these three factors contributed to those conflicts the most. the sri lankans.. those living in northen ireland..

the more i talk or think about it the more depressed i get. let us all just hope and pray that things will work out better for all those innocent lives.
